Racing Lane Rope (often referred to as lane lines) are used to delineate the swimming lanes in pools. For competition and training for competition. The Flood lanes reduces waves in inner competition lanes by 80%. The wave caused by a swimmer when moving is practically absorbed without causing notice able reflection effects. The diameter of the floats in this type of lane may be anything from a minimum of 50mm to 150mm and the larger versions 100mm or 150mm are strung on a stainless steel cable (rather than polyester), tensioned to limit movement of the lane. For 2.0m wide lanes it is suggested that a maximum of 100mm diameter lane ropes are used. That lanes ropes should extend the full length of the course.
